Project Overview:

Morse Electric was the prime electrical contractor for the Winnebago County Justice Center. Our scope of work for this project included the electrical service, backup power, power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, sound, A/V, fire alarm, power, control wiring for HVAC equipment, rough in for security and access control, teledata, fiber, and CCTV Systems.

Project Description:

This large project included a 145,000 sq. ft. courthouse section comprised of four court rooms, judicial offices, lobby areas, admin offices, a firing range, Internal Affairs offices, training rooms, a warehouse, IT areas, the sheriff’s department, and support spaces. The other 444,000 sq. ft. were comprised of a 1,212-bed jail, kitchen and laundry facilities, medical and dental facilities, a power plant, maintenance and support spaces with an underground parking garage, and a tunnel to connect the new facility to the former Public Safety Building. The construction was formed and poured concrete with rebar and then finished, outfitted precast cells were stacked in place and connected through service corridors.
