Mandalay Bay Solar

Las Vegas, NV

Project Overview:

Mandalay Bay Solar was the first commercial solar project in the United States for MGM Resorts. This 20-acre, 21,324 solar module rooftop installation produces nearly 20 percent of the Mandalay Bay’s power demand. Our scope of work for this project included medium voltage distribution and fiber communications.

Project Description:

For the Mandalay Bay Solar project, The Morse Group provided a new, three-quarter mile underground 15kV power circuit and fiber communications from the north-central plant to a new medium voltage interconnect switchgear located in the south-central plant. This medium voltage circuit was then extended through cable tray to four transformer locations on various levels of the convention center roof to return the collected PV energy back to the facility load.
