Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford

Rockford, IL

Project Overview:

Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford is a 13-story, 160-suite hotel and conference center. This historic building was the first high rise in Rockford & previously served as a manufacturing facility for three different companies over the last 107 years. Many historical elements were preserved during the renovation including original concrete columns of different size and shape, floor to ceiling industrial windows, and the original steel cage surrounding the freight elevator. BIM played a vital role during construction to accommodate the concrete columns and coordinate chases up through the concrete structure. Throughout this 3+ year project, crews overcame several challenges such as the extreme, record breaking cold of winter 2018, challenging architectural elements, and exposed mechanical design elements to complete this project on schedule in April of 2020.
