Berner Foods | Dakota, IL
The Morse Group was contracted for the 220,000 square foot expansion of Berner Foods. The expansion project included the installation of six new services for Berner working closely with The Morse Group. Morse installed and wired a new 35KVA line feeding five of the new services as well as installing all of the medium voltage switch installation and termination. During the construction, Morse has also taken on systems such as phone, data, fiber, security and fire alarm installation. The Morse Group wired many new lines for Berner such as: four lines of process and packaging for Handy Snacks products, the process and packaging line for Monster Coffee drink production and packaging, as well as a new process and packaging line for new client, Starbucks. The Morse Group also wired all of the utilities that support the additional production lines such as cooling towers, silos, boilers, chillers and compressors.
Swedish American | Rockford, IL
The Morse Group is partnering with Swedish American Hospital for their expansion project. The project includes six new transformations including women and children’s four-story tower, pediatrics remodel, a new Cath Lab, the PACU remodel, two new replacement chillers to provide cooling for the new buildings, and the loading dock expansion. The Morse Group is the primary electrical contractor for the new 165,000 square foot project and is responsible for all of the power and systems. The Morse Group will be handling the medium voltage wiring and installation, the electrical distribution and branch wiring, as well as emergency power. Morse will be closely partnering with Swedish American for the operating room isolated power systems, temporary and permanent power and lighting, fire, security and access control systems, infant protection systems as well as the auditorium.
Ford Assembly Plant | Chicago, IL
The Chicago Ford Assembly Project is a joint effort between two Morse Group subsidiaries: Automation Solutions of America (ASA) and Morse Electric, Inc. The Morse Group is working closely with Automatic Systems (ASI), the conveyor manufacturer, as this project has an expedited schedule. In order to meet this schedule, ASI worked with ASA and Morse Electric to develop a plan to pre-build and run all the conveyor systems prior to shipping. The Morse Group will demo the body shop by shutting the plant down, during which all the new tooling and conveyor equipment will be installed. The complete tear-out and reinstall is to take place in just 31 days. Morse Electric has been pre-assembling cable tray sections and kitting cables and hardware in their Beloit, WI location and shipping it all to Kansas City for installation. ASA engineers are now performing debug and conveyor auto-sequencing. Morse Electric has also started to pre-install as much as possible in Chicago for the hundreds of power drops required.
Pace Glass |
The Morse Group is partnering with Pace Glass for a turn-key electrical and controls project. The Morse Group is providing the power engineering, control of conveyors, optical sortation and filtration system. The Morse Group is also contracting and managing the new facility. The Morse Group provided the conceptual design for the project and procured the distribution. ASA, a Morse Group subsidiary, completed the controls system design of main control panels and remote input output panels. They are also delivering the control system PLC and HMI programming along with the installation support and startup. The Pace Glass project completion is November of 2015.
Fox Metro | Oswego, Illinois
The Morse Group was awarded the $11 million dollar electrical contract for the $89 million dollar Fox Metro Water Reclamation south plant addition in Oswego, Illinois. The Morse Group will install a complete electrical package including a parallel 15kV plant electrical distribution system, major equipment electrical feeders and connections, lighting and branch electrical distribution system. The Morse Group will also install and wire a state of the art plant SCADA and control system including over two miles of electrical and fiber network ductbank. The anticipated completion for the Fox Metro project is fall of 2018.
Ideal Industries |
The Morse Group is partnered with Ideal Industries for their new 210,000 square foot facility in Sycamore, IL. The Morse Group is integrating the fiber optics between three facilities, machine relocation and installation, as well as a partial generator backup. Morse is also installing an Ideal pioneered technology, Audacy wireless, a 24V low voltage lighting systems that incorporates ceiling grid as the low voltage pathway with wireless dimming control.
Pratt Industries |
The Morse Group secured the electrical contract for the $52 million expansion of Pratt Industries corrugated box factory in Beloit, WI. The 360,000 square foot facility is a design-build project for The Morse Group. The Morse Group is installing LED lighting throughout the entire facility, which is the first facility for Pratt to be 100% LED. The Morse Group is handling the electrical connection of over 70 machines and the facility’s power.
Stephenson County Cultivation Facility | Freeport, IL
The Morse Group is partnered with Little City Contracting for a design/build medical marijuana cultivation facility located in Freeport, IL. The 78,000 square foot facility will grow more than 12,000 pounds of medical marijuana a year and includes a kitchen that will create edible products to sell to patients. There will be over 200 security cameras on a 147-acre industrial park. Little City teamed up The Morse Group in the early stages of design and the President/CEO said, “We did our homework and found the Morse Group to be ranked as one of the best electrical contractors in the nation. From the time we met with The Morse Group and their team, we were greeted and treated with respect. Most importantly, we feel that they have our best interest at heart. The discussions and interactions my team and I have had with the Morse Group team have given us confidence that we did not chose the low-cost contractor but the best quality contractor.” The Morse Group has been contracted to provide design/build for all the electrical services.
Southern Wisconsin Campus | Verona, WI
The Morse Group was contracted to provide electrical design/build services for the commercial campus utilizing an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) type of approach. The Morse Group had early involvement with the architect and other MEP design/build contractors, which reduced costs and change orders through project completion. The Morse Group was able to model the electrical system, collaborate with other trades, and provide continual cost modeling through multiple phases. The Morse Group provided electrical engineering, emergency and standby generation, teledata, audio visual, lighting, lighting control, energy monitoring, equipment specification, testing, commissioning, and self-performed the installation providing a complete turn-key solution.
Linetec | Wausau, WI
ASA and AMP Electric are working together on a new aluminum anodizing line for Linetec in Wausau, Wisconsin. This new processing line will be used for anodizing and coloring aluminum pieces used primarily in the construction of commercial window frames and architectural structures. It will be a completely automated line consisting of (33) dip tanks capable of processing parts up to 34' long. The parts racks will be shuttled through the system by (6) automatic hoists, which will work in unison to process multiple load bars through the steps required for each load's specific recipe. ASA is providing the complete control system including hardware design, control panels, programming of process tanks and automatic hoists, and development of a server/client based HMI system. AMP Electric will be performing the electrical installation of the control system. This is a $1.9 million combined project for The Morse Group. Installation will begin in June of this year.
Solar Rooftops | Las Vegas, NV
Morse Electric in Las Vegas was awarded two prime contracts to provide photovoltaic systems for Desert Breeze community Center and Hollywood Recreation Center from Clark County, NV. Desert Breeze is a 22,753 Sq. Ft. facility with an aquatic complex, and Hollywood is a 44,138 Sq. Ft. facility with a skate park. The projects will be providing a nominal 40 KW roof mounted photovoltaic array over 4,580 Sq. ft. of the roof. This system will utilize non-penetrating ballast racking system, and string-level and revenue- grade monitoring, and weather station. These projects also include a new elastomeric Urethane coating system on the roof under to solar array. There will be a touchscreen display in each lobby for public interactive system monitoring with a web-based data logging system. These will have access to the two facilities and three other county facilities. There will also be an educational system interconnection with Clark County School District with a secondary and elementary based interactive program. The elementary program will include cartoon animation. These projects are scheduled for mid-May 2015 completion.
Hempstead High School Renovation & Addition | Dubuque, IA
The 30 million dollar project which included a 3 million dollar electrical budget, included the addition of a 700-seat auditorium, a gym with two courts, additional classroom space for music and technology education, a new kiln room in art, new food preparation and dining areas, plus new administrative offices, expansion of the parking lot including LED Parking Lot Lights, and more. Morse Electric provided an complete electrical package including, lighting and rigging for the auditorium, updating the existing electrical service. The project broke ground in May 2013 and was completed by the first day of school 2015, ahead of its anticipated January 2016 completion date.
Waste Water Facility | Terre Haute, IN
The Morse Group was awarded the $9.8 million dollar Electrical Installation of a new 48 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) Waste Water Facility in Terre Haute, IN. During the construction process, The Morse Group was contacted for immediate changes to the plant to provide for a Biofuel waste to diesel project. Utilizing a turnkey solution, The Morse Group partnered with our own IEE as well as Plocher Construction to meet the requirements of the end user quickly and finish both projects ahead of schedule. The Morse Group completed emergency and standby generation, medium voltage primary cabling, teledata, lighting, lighting control, energy monitoring, equipment specification, testing, commissioning, and self-performed the installation providing a comprehensive turn-key solution.
Chlapaty Hall | Dubuque, IA
The Morse Group was contracted to complete the electrical contracting on Chlapaty Hall. It is the newest residence hall at the University of Dubuque and incorporates a pod-like design. The new 4-story structure is environmentally friendly and features geothermal heating and cooling, high-efficiency lighting and windows; and energy star appliances and equipment throughout.
XS Encore in the Encore Hotel & Casino | Las Vegas, NV
Morse Electric, Inc. is completing the installation of audio-visual technology upgrades and additions at the XS Nightclub in the Encore Hotel & Casino. The interior of the nightclub is being outfitted with hundreds of new theatrical moving lights around the dance floor as well as nearly 3,000' of DMX controlled LED lights installed on the ceiling. A new stage is being erected with all new lighting and a state of the art LED video wall. In addition to the stage video wall, two large 40' long video walls will be mounted on the exterior of the club façade flanking each side of the stage.
The exterior pool and cabana portion of the nightclub will add thousands of additional feet many new accent lights installed around the palm trees, decorative trees and bushes as well as additional moving lights in the pool bar. They will also have a flexible color changing LED lighting fixture installed around the perimeter to add accent and special effects.
Choctaw Casino | Durant, OK
FBP Systems, a Morse Group subsidiary, is providing audio and visual integration services for the Choctaw Casino expansion. The Choctaw expansion will create over 700 new jobs and includes a remodel of the south casino, a food court, bowling alley, and cinema complex with five state-of-the-art theaters. Additional expansions include a new 22-story hotel tower with 500 rooms and VIP suites and a full-service destination “sky” spa. FBP is providing sound, video, control systems and lighting integration services for their 3000-seat performance venue, specifically a Meyer LEO Sound system, one of the 1st LEO system installations in the United States. Also providing TV’s for both towers and Chairmen’s suite. For the lighting systems, FBP is using Clay Packy fixtures with a grandMA console.
Woodward Rock Cut Campus | Rockford, IL
The 76-acre site for the new Rock Cut Campus for Woodward will house 440,000 square feet of office and production space that will manufacture systems and components for aircraft turbines fuel systems. It will be one of the most modern facilities for that type of equipment in the world. The project will bring over a thousand new Woodward employees and over 800 construction jobs.
Mandalay Bay | Las Vegas, NV
The Morse Group was awarded the medium voltage distribution and fiber communications for the Sunora Energy Mandalay Bay solar installation. The Morse Group provided a new three quarter mile underground 15 KV power circuit and fiber communications from the north central plant to a new medium voltage interconnect switchgear located in the south central plant. This medium voltage circuit was then extended through cable tray to four transformer locations on various levels of the convention center roof to return the collected PV energy back to the facility load. The 20-acre rooftop installation is predicted to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 1,000 homes. The 21,324 solar module rooftop installation is expected to produce nearly 20 percent of the Mandalay Bay's power demand. This is the first commercial solar project in the U.S. for MGM Resorts.
UBC Carpenters Union | Las Vegas, NV
Morse Electric was awarded the electrical contract for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Center (ITC) in Las Vegas, NV. The project consisted of two existing buildings for a total of 68,825 square feet. The larger building was shared with the Regional International Office. Morse Electric along with FBP Systems provided upgraded electric services and their distribution, indoor lighting, parking lot lighting, branch power, DataCom, fiber optic cabling and Audio/Visual including touch screen and projection systems. FBP Systems is providing a high tech solution for the classrooms using Crestron Digital Media products to eliminate multiple cables to the projectors and allows for auto scaling of any resolution.
Elgin Community College | Elgin, IL
Morse Electric, Inc.installed a 12.47kV underground Smart Grid distribution system for Elgin Community College (ECC). This work follows a separately bid and awarded engineering contract by another Morse Group company, Industrial Electrical Engineers, Inc., for the same project. The new Smart Grid system will utilize state-of-the-art technologies to improve reliability of the campus’ electrical distribution system and is monitored in real time with automated notices delivered electronically to maintenance staff alerting them to system anomalies. Data collected by the Smart Grid system will also allow the college to better understand its energy use profile thereby providing opportunities for the college to manage its energy costs more closely.
Nippon Sharyo | Rochelle, IL
Nippon Sharyo expanded its nearly 500,000 square feet of space with an additional 330,000 square feet and contracted The Morse Group for their electrical needs. In the new facility, major parts and components for the car body will be manufactured using U.S.-made raw material. The $54 million expansion was generated from recent contracts to manufacture components for the commuter and high-speed passenger rail cars for Chicagoland’s Metra commuter rail network, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Solar Installation | Aurora, IL
The Morse Group completed an installation of a 97kw grid tied solar PV using 324 Suniva 300 watt modules and 5 REFUsol inverters.
McCarran International Airport | Las Vegas, NV
The McCarran International Airport project was a $2.4 billion electrical turn-key project. The project included a DataCom system with over 9000 data jacks. Our team conceptualized and installed a security system that included over 800 CCTV cameras. We incorporated a Laser Guided Aircraft Docking System at all gates. For the convenience of all airport users we also installed over 900 flat screen display monitors, as well as the installation of the Bombardier electric tram system to Terminal 1.
EcoGrove Wind Farm | Waddams Grove, IL
The Morse group provided turn-key services, which resulted in a 100 megawatt wind farm with a 34.5KV collection system and 67 turbines.
Chrysler Assembly Plant | Belvidere, IL
The Morse Group has been a preferred contractor for the Chrysler Assembly Plant since 1985.
Thorncrown Chapel | Eureka Springs, AR
Thorncrown Chapel was a design/installation project for The Morse Group. We designed and installed the new sound system for the chapel. This structure was listed as #4 among the top 20 buildings of the 20th century by the American Institute of Architects. The 48-foot tall wooden structure contains 425 windows and over 6,000 square feet of glass.
WalMart Distribution Center | Sterling, IL & Cheyenne, WY
The Morse Group completed a $12 million project for the 1.25 Million square foot WalMart distribution center.
Winnebago County Justice Center | Rockford, IL
The Morse Group completed a $15 million project for the 500,000 square foot space of the Winnebago County Justice Center in Rockford, IL.
Heartland Community College | Bloomington, IL
The Heartland Community College construction was an educational project that consisted of constructing six new buildings on campus. The scope of work included the installation of roof trusses; external framing and sheathing; and internal framing, including structure isolation, drywall with finishes, and acoustical ceilings.
Beloit Corp. Mural Lighting | Beloit, WI
The Beloit Corporate Mural was a design/build project that included a 28x70 mural lighting installation. This installation was intended to refurbish 700,000 square feet of space that was converted for office and industrial use.
Walgreens | Bucktown Chicago, IL
This retail project included the interior renovation of a 29,500 square foot space of an old bank building in downtown Chicago to a multi-floor Designer Walgreens Pharmacy. This location is Chicago's newest Walgreens Flagship Store with multiple high-end finishes.
Bliss Communications | Janesville, WI
The Morse Group completed a $1+ million project for Bliss Communications for their 54,000 square foot commercial space.
RFD Solar | Rockford, IL
The Rockford Solar farm was a design/build installation to generate over three megawatts of power. The Solar Farm, just south of the Chicago Rockford International Airport, lies on 20 acres. The project also incorporated 1000 volt DC collection systems.
University of Dubuque Performing Arts Center | Dubuque, IA
The UD Performing Arts Center project had a $26 million construction budget which included a $2.5 million electrical budget. The 80,000 square foot institutional project included a 1000-seat main hall with lobby as well as a 200-seat black box theater and auditorium space. Our team focused on acoustics, lighting, rigging, and patron comfort. The project focused on energy efficiency through the building envelope, electrical power, and mechanical systems.
Commercial Project | Southern Wisconsin
This commercial project was a design/build installation. For this project, The Morse Group designed, built and installed a 360 kilowatt parking shade structure with a 600 Volt DC collection system.
Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center | Broken Arrow, Ok
Our installation work in the 86,000 square foot Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center included the following:

Swedish American Cancer Center | Rockford, IL
The Swedish American Regional Cancer Center in partnership with UW Health Systems is a 60,000 square foot medical facility. The Morse Group provided light gauge framing, lead shielding, and drywall for this project.
PJ Clarkes | Las Vegas, NV
The Morse Group customized a 2x4 Planar display using RGB Spectrum's MediaWall 4200 processor for PJ Clarkes' wall installation. MediaWall 4200 provides the reliability of an embedded operating system with the absence of hard drives. The processor can display up to 12 graphics and video signals on the 2x4 array of monitors, with signals displayed in windows anywhere, at any size.
